now that it's a new year, i thought i'd start doing a better job keeping this little blog up to date. i know a lot of people have moved their blogs to xanga but to me, blogger is pretty cute and has a nicer looking interface...and hey, why go to all that trouble? it's not that easy to port over all your entries, and then you've gotta design a new site, and next thing you know, you'll have to do it all over again for the next new new blog site. bleeh.

plus i haven't even mentioned this blog to my friends (yet) so they wouldn't even have to change their bookmarks. haha. and all you know about me is that my name is some variation of conbon and my folks are in florida. oh yeah, and i shop at bath and body works. so if you work backward from there, bbw only eliminates most of the male population in america, and me being in florida once or twice a year gets rid of all of the pale sun-deprived people out there...and my name basically leaves you with a bunch of asian girls whose mommies thought it'd be cute to name us after connie chung...who has all but disappeared from the news these days, what a shame. at least she doesn't have a name like barbara walters who a lot of people know as 'barbah wahwah', the woman who likes to make people cry in interviews.

i must say it is a bit sad that we don't have better asian role models out there...i was just trying to think of some of the outstanding black role models out there and came to realize that they are few and far between. same with almost any ethnicity, although i was pretty impressed that ALL of the little jewelry shops i went to while in sunny florida were all run by shrewd jewish people. and a woman or two in between, yay! but the latest asian role models i can think of are the guys in better luck tomorrow, and while it was an entertaining film, they are by no means any kind of role models. we can't claim to have the charisma of MLK or the genius of oprah. instead, the primary asian in the news is Kim Jong-il, the north korean dictator who even scored a parody on kid notorious. sigh.
