wow, the finale of Friends *sucked*. how they ever came up with such a lousy plot that was entirely predictable is beyond me. the whole time i felt like this was one of those 'just kidding, now we're going to whip out the real show' things. nope, that's it, all happy ending and nothing to do. from the earlier episodes you already know that monica and chandler are moving out, and rachel's moving to paris for her new job, and that ross is a dumbshit who can't get his act together to actually get together with rachel. sooo...if you were going to predict what would happen in the next episode, a twist would be monica and chandler deciding not to leave, and ross following rachel all the way to paris before convincing her to come back. nope, they took the easy route instead - it all happens like you would have predicted. the only new thing was that joey got a duckling and a baby chick as housewarming presents for the couple and ended up keeping them himself after monica dismantled the foosball table to get them out (when somehow, oddly, they got out of their box and got stuck inside).

during the show i realized that my boyfriend actually follows Friends more closely than i do and cares more about the characters. in the final hugs, i joked that since there's two happy couples, joey and phoebe should get together too. upon which he blurted out in shock, "but phoebe's married!!!" haha.
